Our story began on a beach. And so, it would seem fitting that the next chapter also starts on a beach. Only, one with a bit more sun, sand and margaritas.  Perhaps, on a little paradise-like stretch of Mexico.

Ahh the brave words of a used-to-be-single man… I guess you are still in training…

(Don’t worry about the spelling baby, I’ll take care of it for you – to you readers, you’re welcome!). Well, I’m glad we didn’t lather the niceties on too thick…

Anyway back to our “fairy tale”. So this French guy comes to Ireland to steal our jobs and our women, and so, reader, I took one for the team. You are all welcome -

Your face is interrupting!!!

OK, I guess I’ll do the storytelling then… As we were saying, sunny skies, hot sand, exotic cocktails. What better surroundings to celebrate our union - and my apparent impending doom…

IMPENDING DOOM!!!  The cheek of you… your face is impending doom!!!

I swear she hasn’t been drinking! Can we play nice for a minute, you, my face and I?

Ok, I’ll try… but you’re asking a lot.
So reader, our journey has taken us from Europe to North America and now to Central America… hopefully with you there to celebrate 13 years of trial, error and indeed indescribable happiness…. How’s that for nice?

It would be perfect, if not for the surly undertones of sarcasm. But I’m not one to focus on the negative. Where were we? Ah, yes, Mexico. Playa del Carmen, on the Riviera Maya, to be precise. On June 23^rd 2015, Natalie and I will finally tie the knot. And we’re hoping you will be there with us.

So come join us, or you will miss out on Nico’s face….    Im sorry.. but I is who I is … tee hee hee-

The Details

Alright, for those of you who are still with us – patient souls – you will find some information on these pages. In short, we will be staying in Mexico for 2 weeks. We are booked at the Sandos Playacar Hotel, where the wedding will take place, in the evening on the beach. The idea is to enjoy fun times with YOU, our nearest and dearest.

Here are the main details:

• We are booked at the Sandos Playacar Hotel, in Playa del Carmen, MexicoHere is a link to the hotel website: http://www.sandos.com/hotel-playacar-in-playa-del-carmen.htm NOTE: Sandos are a hotel chain, make sure you book the right one! If in doubt, speak to us, or to our lovely travel agent, Shawna – her details are the bottom of this page.
• The wedding date is Tuesday June 23^rd 2015
• We will be there from Saturday June 20^th until Saturday July 4^th. Come join us for a few days, or the whole 2 weeks if you can!

You can learn more about the hotel from their site. You obviously can pick a different place to stay if you like, do what suits you best! Just keep in mind that:

•  it’s nicer and easier if we’re all in the same place
•  you will need to purchase a day pass on days that you wish to spend with us at the hotel if you’re staying somewhere else (except for the day of the wedding, of course). I believe those are $75 each (per person)
•  the hotel is all-inclusive for food and drink, including alcohol. Nothing stops us from eating and drinking elsewhere when we want to, but the rest of the time, everything is taken care of, and there are many choices.

We will do several day trips around the area. Maybe an overnighter, if something really tickles our fancy. We will stay in the area anyway, the idea is for us to have plenty of time to spend with everybody. We haven’t scheduled anything just yet (other than the wedding itself!), but Mexico has a rich history and culture that begs to be discovered. There are notably Mayan ruins nearby, the island of Cozumel a ferry ride away, the charming town of Tulum 45 minutes south… and more. I won’t overload you with details here. A quick internet search for “Riviera Maya” and “Playa del Carmen” will provide you with all the details you need.

So book the date, check your passports (you will need a 6-month validity from date of entry!) and pack your sunscreen! We can’t wait to see you there!
